Dear Members and Friends of CiviCure,
We bring you best wishes for a 2021 holiday season brimming with warmth and gratitude!

Here at CiviCure's home in the Wood Block we remain grateful that this 148-year-old building is leak free thanks to its one-year-old roof. In 2021 we added other noteworthy accomplishments with the return of the Hoosick Blooms Garden Tour on July 10-11. Making up for the year off due to Covid, we held the event over two days with twice as many gardens on offer. Fifty volunteers helped in so many ways, including welcoming visitors to nine stunning sites throughout the town of Hoosick, Hoosick Falls, Eagle Bridge and Cambridge. The community responded generously with over $7,700 raised to help pay down the roof loan.

Hoosick Blooms 2021 was also enhanced with musicians performing on the third floor of Wood Block. The group Rosin the Beaux was so impressed with the sound and the potential of the beautiful space that they donated back the stipend they received through the generous contribution of a CiviCure board member. The outstanding acoustics make it easy to imagine this historic opera house coming to life-children's voices, the rhythm of dancing on the chestnut floors, exhibitions, murals and cultural events enlivening every space.

Finally, we are excited to let you know that renovation efforts are moving forward with the restoration of Wood Block's second and third floor windows. The first six were removed in October. The work will be done per U. S. Dept. of Interior Guidelines for Historic Preservation.

Stewarding this priceless asset requires the commitment of efforts and funds. A very generous donor has come to our aid by offering a $5,000 year-end matching grant. Please help us capitalize on this gift. Every dollar you donate will be matched. WeĆre happy to note that the Federal CARES Act of 2020 is carrying through 2021 allowing non-itemizers to receive a tax deduction for charitable contributions of $300 for single filers and $600 for a couple.
Many thanks for your support and all our best to you for a Happy 2022!

Barbara
